About this file

This document contains government responses to a Request for Information (RFI) for solicitation FA5270-26-Q-A048, Amendment 0001, dated August 26, 2026, regarding a Class IV Base Course Aggregate project.

The RFI addresses two key inquiries about material specifications and intended use. Regarding material type, the government clarified that the required aggregate must be crushed stone produced via a crusher to ensure an angular particle shape, with particle size requirements of 1-1/2 inches and below. Concerning application, the government confirmed that the material will serve as fill material for expedient flightline repairs at an Air Force installation. The material will be compacted and covered with a fiberglass-reinforced cover and is explicitly not intended for sustained or long-term performance, indicating this is a temporary solution for runway or taxiway maintenance.
