Readily removable fittings shall be provided at the end of all cross mains to facilitate the flushing process.

(32) Upon completion of the project, the Contractor shall test the complete fire sprinkler and detection system and adjust as necessary to secure all approvals. The Contractor shall identify the testing requirements such as, but not limited to, the hydrostatic test pressures, the test duration under pressure and the amount of allowable leakage per hour. The Contractor shall be responsible for coordination/scheduling of the test and shall provide all test results in a manual for reference.

10 ACM / LBP-RELATED WORK

10.1 General

a. The Contractor shall ensure all ACM/LBP related assessments, surveys, sampling, reporting, abatement plan design and execution, and waste disposal is conducted by trained and certified in accordance with the applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and the requirements in the specifications and supplements identified in the Statement of Work.

10.2 Abatement of Identified Materials

a. ACM/LBP findings are shown in the Government provided testing results. The project area is not shown to have any hazardous materials.

b. The Contractor shall evaluate government-provided records, the scope of work, and site conditions to identify the presence, location, and quantity of asbestos-containing material (ACM) and presumed asbestos-containing material (PACM), as well as lead-based paint (LBP) and other hazardous materials.

This evaluation shall include sampling and testing of suspected ACM/LBP in accordance with applicable

US federal and Japan regulations (specifically, the Japan Environmental Governing Standards - JEGS).

Based on these findings, the Contractor will define the Class of Work for each disturbance and develop appropriate removal, abatement, and disposal plans. For the purposes of abatement planning, the presence of ACM/LBP in any sampled material will be assumed to indicate the presence of ACM/LBP in all identical materials throughout the building.
