About this file

This document appears to be the Salient Characteristics for Project ACE Cargo Handling, a materials handling equipment initiative by the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). The ACE Cargo Handling equipment is an electronic, tracked, remote-controlled non-driven material handling unit that can lift up to 10,000 pounds using forklift tines or be configured to lift 463L pallets. The salient characteristics describe the MPEP (Multi-Purpose Expeditionary Platform) with Mini-K Loader, MPEP, pintle hook/receiver tub, generator, external battery connector, and universal attachment plate. This is a pre-solicitation market research notice to determine potential sources for this equipment. The government is not yet committing to a solicitation or contract award, but is seeking industry information to assist with future procurement planning.

SUBJECT: Salient Characteristics for Project ACE Cargo Handling requirements

1. Project ACE Cargo Handling is an initiative started by AFSOC to drastically reduce the requirements and needs of standard 10K AT forklifts and reduce the need for fuel supply chains. ACE Cargo handling is an electronic, tracked, remote controlled non-driven material handling equipment that utilizes electrical motors to power hydraulic pumps. The units are made to support up to 10,000 pounds via traditional forklift tines. It is modular in nature and can be converted to lift 463L pallets into the air the same way 25K and 60K loaders do.
