Q1.
What if any is the greater purpose of this effort?
ANSWER:
Monitoring needs to conduct daily in early morning, in order to find sea turtle nest quickly (since soldiers does PT in early morning in the beach), and the nest often need to be relocate within a day after eggs are laid, because of the following reason. Torii Beach is considered to have insufficient elevation to support sea turtle nesting or hatching: the risk of being submerged or impacted by high waves is too great. And also light and human impacts are large on Torii Beach (Torii Beach is only the beach for U. S soldiers and civilians located in central area of Okinawa)
