RFQ NO. FA5270-11-T-0036

Safe Drinking Water Program Manager Questions (Q) and Answers (A)

1. Please tell me the starting date. It appears that the contract is for a six (6 ) month period.

ANSWER: The starting date is 1 Sep 11 as specified under “Delivery Information”, page 3 of the solicitation.

2. Is this a new position or is someone currently performing the work?

ANSWER: This is a new position

3. Will he/she be available to assist the incoming Manager?

ANSWER: Contractor must meet all requirement in PWS and have the necessary experience to perform the work.

4. Will whomever is hired then train the next Manager?

ANSWER: No training will be given. Contractor must meet all education and training requirement in PWS and have the experience necessary to perform the work

5. Where are the water samples currently being sent for analysis?

ANSWER: All water samples are sent to Air Force approved labs throughout the United States (Ohio, Michigan, Texas, etc.).

6. It looks as if the government provides a facility, but the needed supplies must be provided by the Manager. Is that correct?

ANSWER: Yes.

7. Is there a vehicle that is provided to do the water sample collection?

ANSWER: No, the contractor will use their own vehicle to perform the work as required per timeline or monthly compliance requirements.

8. How does one find available housing? And what are the typical rental costs?

ANSWER: There are various housing agencies in Okinawa as well as the on-base housing office that can assist newcommers find a house. Rental cost is dependent on size, location and lease agreement.

9. There are two areas in the job description for which I am not knowledgeable; conducting indoor air quality and mold assessments (1.2.2.4) and using the DOEHRS software system (1.2.2.6.) Does the MFT provide training on the system ?

ANSWER: No training will be given. Contractor must meet all education and training requirements in PWS and have the necessary experience to perform the work.
