The following have been added by full text:

AMENDMENT

The purpose of this modification is to:

1 – Provide questions and answers asked during the site visit held Thursday, 4 September 2008.

2 – Post a copy of the Technical Order and Federal Specifications stated in the PWS.

3 – All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Note: * Please remember to sign one copy of this amendment and return with your solicitation package.

**Any additional questions must be addressed in writing to Tamara.Feist-Hatfield@kadena.af.mil NLT Noon (12 pm) Thursday, 11 September in order to allow time to answer and post the responses.

1. This contract is only to paint the exterior surfaces of the display aircraft, no internal work will be required?

Answer: Yes, the contract is only for the exterior painting of the aircraft.

2. Will the Technical Order for paint schemes and markings be made available to us and is it in a .PDF format?

Answer: Yes, an electronic .PDF copy of both the Technical Order and the Federal Standard 595 Color Chart have been furnished to the 18th Contracting Squadron for this purpose.

3. Can decals be used for some of the more complex markings and "nose art" found on these aircraft?

Answer: While the preference is to have all markings painted on, decals would be acceptable with the understanding that they must be durable and would fall under the same warranty as the paint.

4. Will repair of corroded panels be required and what methods must be used to effect such repairs?

Answer: Yes, the method of repair is up to the contractor performing the work so long as the repair is durable and is covered by the paint durability warranty. If the repair fails the contractor will be required to reaccomplish the work.

5. Is environmental protection of the area immediately surrounding the aircraft required?

Answer: Yes, the environmental protection requirements are explained in greater detail within the solicitation package.

6. Minor sheet metal repair including missing panels?

Answer: Yes, although the replacement of missing panels will be for cosmetic purposes and are not required to be functional. This also covers missing or damaged flight control surface lockout tabs that prevent the deployment or movement of the flight control surfaces. (Also refer to question # 4)

7. Can decals be used for the aircraft emblems and markings or must they be painted onto the aircraft?

Answer: Please refer to question # 3

8. Will the government provide any needed decals?

Answer: No, all artwork and materials will be provided by the contractor performing the work.
