736 SFS Ground Radar System Requirement Description

This document is a requirement description for a 736 Security Forces Squadron ground radar system specifying the ODIN RADAR MR1 or equivalent. The system must be a remotely operated ground radar capable of slew-to-cue integration with camera systems for immediate target identification. The radar shall operate in K-band frequencies (24.45–24.65 GHz for USA; 24.05–24.25 GHz for international use) and provide 120-degree field of view with 360-degree total coverage, delivering range, azimuth, and elevation identification. Detection range must exceed 800 meters for both 120-degree and 360-degree coverage modes.

The system shall include hard body transit cases for deployment, rugged solid-state construction, and comprehensive integration capabilities including ATAK system integration, smartphone/tablet command and control, and geo-location functionality. Technical specifications require track accuracy of less than 1-degree azimuth and less than 1.5-degree elevation, a 10 Hz track update rate, simultaneous tracking of up to 20 targets, and 6-kilometer instrumented range. The system must incorporate heightened cybersecurity measures with capability for software updates to mitigate vulnerabilities, include all necessary mounting hardware for tower integration, and employ Short-Range, Software-Defined, Metamaterials ESA (MESA®) radar technology in compact solid-state format.
