About this file
This document is a Requirement Description with Salient Characteristics from the Department of the Air Force, Headquarters 36th Wing (PACAF) at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, detailing specifications for two advanced medical training dummies. The dummies are highly sophisticated training simulators designed for comprehensive medical and emergency response training, featuring an extensive array of realistic anatomical and physiological capabilities including multiple sensor technologies, advanced feedback systems, and the ability to simulate various medical scenarios such as intubation, CPR, central line placement, wound management, catheterization, and traumatic injury responses.
The training dummies include sophisticated features like palpable pulses, coordinated heart and breath sounds, remote-controlled leg movement, sensors to measure medical intervention effectiveness, and the ability to provide instantaneous feedback for After Action Reporting. Specific training capabilities include orotracheal and nasopharyngeal intubation, intraosseous and intramuscular injection sites, chest tube and needle decompression training, wound packing, tourniquet application, and simulation of various patient conditions such as respiratory status, consciousness levels, and patient survival metrics. The devices are designed to be water-resistant, easy to clean, and provide comprehensive data tracking for medical training purposes.

REQUIREMENT DESCRIPTION WITH SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
(In detail, please describe those physical, functional, performance, or material element qualities of an item that are essential to ensure that the intended use of the item can be satisfactorily realized.)
1. Two medical training dummies are required with the following salient characteristics:
2. Multiple sensors provide trainers/learners with instantaneous feedback for After Action Reporting via the Ruggedized Remote Control
3. Flexible jaw with internal tracheal landmarks for orotracheal Intubation; gastric distention resulting from improper intubation.
4. Heart sounds and breathing with coordinated breath sounds in 4 quadrants
5. Palpable radial, carotid, brachial, femoral, and pedal pulses
6. CPR with sensors to measure compression depth and rate
7. ACLS training with programmed megacodes and AAR data/scorecard
8. Central Line (subclavian) with flash cue, ultrasound compatibility and sensors to monitor placement
9. Oral airway cavity (with teeth and tongue) for oropharyngeal intubation (responds to BVM)
10. Teeth sensor to detect excessive contact during intubation with a removable section of teeth for airway clearance training
11. Cricothyroidotomy with larynx with replaceable skin plugs Nasal passageways with sensors for nasopharyngeal intubation and user selectable airway obstruction at the nose or throat to cue for surgical cric
12. Bilateral infusible intraosseous (I/O) trainers and intramuscular injection sites at the humerus/deltoid
13. Realistic manubrium allows I/O training with fluid infusion Realistic, light reactive eyes that respond to ambient light or can be remotely set to dilated, pinpoint, TBI, or fixed/nonresponsive
14. Blood pressure reading via auscultation or palpation with brachial pulse
15. Bilateral chest tube insertion sites with replaceable, multiple use skin plugs15 .Infusible IV training site at the arm with flash cue
16. Bilateral needle chest decompression (NCD) training sites (with breathing recovery)
17.2-way communication audio system allows trainer to speak through the simulator
18. Full left leg with a hemostatic wound at the inguinal crease that requires packing with gauze and the application of measurable pressure

19. Right leg amputation at the knee with popliteal artery bleed with realistic tourniquet site responds to direct pressure for immediate bleeding control
20. Advanced sensor technology provides trainers/learners with instantaneous feedback of applied pressure, time to occlude bleeding, and volume of blood loss for after action reporting
21. Lifelike leg movement, remote controlled using practical and durable special effects animatronics technology
22. Foley catheterization with simulated urine
23. Tibial (bone plug) infusible intraosseous (I/O) trainer
24. Bilateral intramuscular injection sites (skin/muscle plug) at the thigh Crepitus to cue for crushed pelvis injury
25. Scrotal Avulsion with optional interchangeable priapism
26. Water resistant Easy to clean and maintain after use
27. Sensor and Vitals Data
a. Respiratory status (regular, tension pneumothorax, stopped)
b. Respiration rate Airway status Alert, conscious, unconscious, anxious
c. Intubation sensor (tracheal, esophageal, RMS, time)
