About this file

This document is a Sole Source (Including Brand Name) Justification for procurement of Ultimate Building Machine (UBM) spare parts for the 554th Rapid Horizontal Squadrons (RHS) through the 36th Contracting Squadron. The requirement is for specific replacement parts for the MIC-3000 UBM-240 LP Ultimate Building Machine, including common spare parts, engine parts, hydraulic parts, seamer parts, channel parts, and associated software licenses. M.I.C. Industries Inc. is identified as the sole worldwide manufacturer and trademark owner, with an attestation dated 1 January 2025 confirming they are the only provider of operations, maintenance, and training for the UBM-240.

The justification is based on extensive market research, including searches on SAM.gov, internal records, and internet research, which confirmed M.I.C. Industries Inc. as the exclusive source for these specialized parts. The document notes that the UBM is an all-terrain, mobile factory that can produce durable steel buildings in days, and that no alternative parts or manufacturers can meet the exact specifications. The procurement will be conducted under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), which allows sole source procedures when only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. The contracting activity anticipates awarding a sole source contract to M.I.C. Industries Inc., with the justification to be made publicly available on SAM.gov within 14 days after contract award.
