Attachment 4 (Revision 1) – Solicitation FA524024QM230 – Vendor RFI: Questions and Answers
36 MSG/ DET 1 (Diego Garcia) – Vehicle Lifts (2-Post with 30k lbs Lift Capacity and 4-Post with 60k Lift Capacity)
NOTE: This attachment includes inquiries on line item specifications solicitation FA524024QM230 and subsequent Government response. Government responses are formatted in red font and bold.
1. Question: Do we have to arrange for a technician to set up onsite and commission the lifts at Diego Garcia (DG)? If so, do we price routing through Singapore or Bahrain?
Government response:
As part of this requirement, set-up and commissioning is not required.
2. Question: Minimum acceptable lift height?
Government response:
Lift height must be a minimum of 7 feet.
3. Question: Minimum acceptable ramp length?
Government response:
The ramp has to be a minimum of 17 feet but not to exceed 20 feet including the on-load ramps.
4. Question: Are we to include any ancillary items like hydraulic fluid, anchor bolts, connecting hoses/fittings?
Government response:
Contractor must provide anchor bolts, all connecting hoses/fittings, and hydraulic fluid.
5. Question: The specs being requested of the 60,000 lb. Four Post Lifts are an impossibility;
Maximum of 300” wheelbase, maximum length of 20’ simply does not exist for an ALI-Certified four post lift, unless you are referring to a set of wheel engaging mobile lifts, which don’t have runways. Please advise at your earliest convenience if there is a basis of design or spec being looked at, as there was a lift that has since been discontinued that shares some specs you request.
Government response:
Specs are based on the measurements of the current lifts in shop. There is some room to expand if needed, as long as the 300” wheel base maximum is met.
6. Question: - In regards to the ramp/deck length (question 3). Are you referring to the deck length has to be a minimum of 17' feet but a max of 20' feet with the approach ramps? In the required characteristics you have a maximum wheelbase or 300" inches, which would be 25' feet. Please advise?
Government response:
Deck and approach ramp measurements are based on the current lifts that need to be replaced. There is some room to expand in front of the lifts so the 25’ (feet) will work.
7. Question: In regard to the lift height (question 2). Is that the LIFTING height or the height of the lift assembled? Typical lifting height in the automotive industry is 78" inches.
Government response:
78” (inches) will suffice for the requirement at Diego Garcia.
