About this file

This document is a list of Requests for Information (RFIs) related to the 36 FSS Ice Machine Solicitation FA524024QM104. The key details are:

The solicitation requires bags that work with the equipment, though the quantity of 5,000 may need to be increased due to the machine being delivered to Guam. A Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration system is recommended for the machine to produce clear, durable ice cubes, especially if the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are greater than 125 TDS. The RO system will require periodic filter replacements, so additional filters may need to be included in the specification. The agency prioritizes cleanliness of the ice over clarity.

36 FSS Ice Machine Solicitation FA524024QM104

RFIs

1. Bags are needed that work with our equipment. This is not a listed requirement. 5,000 are typically ordered with the machine; however, since the machine is being delivered to Guam there may be a desire to order additional bags.

The additional bags will help in the longevity and reduce wait time for our future replacements to arrive on station.

2. There is reference to “Water Filter.” We recommend a Reverse Osmosis “RO” Filtration System for the machine for Guam. During the fact-finding stage, the RO System was discussed and quoted for budgeting purposes. This system is used to clean up the water and purify it so that the unit produces, clear, durable cubes. If TDS are greater than 125 TDS, the RO System is generally required.

a. If RO is preferred, there are a few types of filters that will need to be replaced periodically over a year’s time. With the machine going to Guam, we wanted to see if extra filters should be included in the spec.

We would like the RO. We care less about clarity and more about cleanliness of the ice.
