About this file
This document is a Specification Requirement for four (4) new, non-refurbished industrial-grade amplifiers required for the Armed Forces Network - Pacific (AFNP). The preferred manufacturer is Nautel, and each amplifier must have a minimum output power of 10 kW, operate in the 648 kHz frequency range, and have a minimum efficiency rating of 90% and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) of 100,000 hours. The amplifiers must be durable enough to withstand severe environmental conditions and be delivered within 90 days of contract award to the Television-Audio Support Activity (T-ASA) American Forces Network Broadcast Center (AFNBC) in Riverside, CA. Comprehensive technical support and warranty services must be provided.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Special Notice for a sole-source award to Nautel for the AFNP Nautel Amplifiers requirement. The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) as Nautel is deemed the only reasonably available source. Interested parties must provide evidence demonstrating that competition would be advantageous and not cost or time prohibitive to the government in order to challenge the sole-source decision.
