SPECIFICATIONS

FOR

IRONER, FOLDER

1. ITEM #1: Flat Work Ironer, Chest Roll Type

a. Description of item.

b. Requirements.

1) Feeding Rate (Roll Speed): High - 45m/min (adjustable 10m/min – 45m/min)

2) The machine must have a safety device. Auto-Lock Function (自動停止機能) .Both of the machines (Item#1 ~ 2) should stop working synchronously when any one of the machines stops working whether by accidental or emergency circumstances.

3) The operational instruction on touch panels can be switched between Japanese and English.

4) The contractor must be Japanese vendor/manufacturer, to obtain repair parts and customer service within 3 business days after the notified by the Government’s Representative.

5) The ironer and folder must have high compatibility.

6) The machine must have pushbutton for start and stop.

7) The machine must have pushbutton for discharging the load.

8) The machine must have an emergency stop switch each in the front, back, left and right.

9) The machine must have maintenance modes (e.g. guide tape replacement, roll waxing, etc.)

10) The machine must be of a construction that allows the operator to visually check soiled or torn items.

11) The ironer adjustments and operational modes must be selectable with touch panel.

12) The number of sheets processed must be viewable on the touch panel.

13) Rotation speed, press pressure, and exhaust power must be adjustable for each roll

14) Publication: Operator’s manual (Japanese): 1EA

15) The machine must be a chest-type roll capable of processing “Fitted Sheets”.

16) The width and diameter of the roll must be equal or greater than an existing model, Century ironer. (*width: 3,500mm (Minimum), *diameter: 1,300mm (Minimum)).

c. Existing Machine.

2. ITEM #2: Folder

a. Description of item

b. Requirement

10) The machine must be of a construction that allows the operator to visually check soiled or torn items.

11) The folding adjustments and operational modes must be selectable with touch panel.

12) The number of sheets processed must be viewable on the touch panel.

13) Press and folding section must be from the same manufacturer.

14) Publication: Operator’s manual (Japanese): 1EA

c. Existing Machine.

3. Delivery Date And Address.

120 days after receipt of order for both ironer and folder machines. The contractor shall deliver to the following address;

Bldg 154-4, Sagami General Depot, 600 Kamiyabe Chuo-ku, Sagamihara city, Kanagawa, Japan The Laundry Plant, Supply and Services Division, Logistics Readiness Center-Honshu, 403d Army Filed Support Brigade.

4. Installation.

The contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, supervision, management, tools, equipment, transportation, materials, and any other items or services necessary to install ironer and folder machine unit and connect not limited to piping work, exhaust duct connection, power connection and mechanical assembly.

5. Removal.

The contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, supervision, management tools, equipment, transportation, materials, and any other items or services necessary to disconnect the existing machines from all piping and power connections. After the machine is disconnected, the contractor shall remove the existing machine and move to outside of the laundry plant. Refer to APPENDIX for the removal location.

6. Test run and adjustment.

The contractor shall perform a test run and adjustment to ensure both of machines functioning properly.

7. Technical support.

The contractor shall provide on-site maintenance and repair support.

8. Disposal of materials.

All debris and unserviceable materials generated under this contract such as industrial waste, non-recyclable materials and equipment/material not listed on hand-receipts shall be disposed of off-base by the contractor IAW the laws of Japan.

9. Responsibility for damages.

Any damages caused to U.S. Government property during performing this contract shall be restored, replaced and/or repaired to its original condition at no additional cost to the U.S. Government.

10. Cleanliness.

The contractor is responsible for cleanliness of the service areas. This includes, but is not limited to, washing, sweeping, dusting and other janitorial services necessary to maintain the area in a clean and sanitary condition. The contractor shall furnish such supplies as required.

11. Warranty.

The contractor shall provide the Government with their commercial warranty for both of ironer and folder machines. The Government shall receive the same warranty service as the contractor’s most favored customers. If the services fail to be performed or otherwise fail due to workmanship or materials, the contractor shall correct the affected area(s) at no additional cost to the U.S. Government. The Government reserves the right to reject any unserviceable or substandard item and to require replacement with a serviceable like item or acceptable quality item or to require full credit for the item.

12. Training.

The contractor shall provide training sessions at the site to show usage of the installed both of ironer and folder machines.
