About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for RFQ No. FA520526QB038, issued by the U.S. Air Force for the procurement of deicing chemicals for Misawa Air Base, Japan. The document addresses five key clarifications regarding delivery methods, contractor responsibilities, product specifications, acceptance criteria, and delivery logistics.

The Q&A clarifies that contractors may submit proposals for either single shipment or phased deliveries. For potassium acetate liquid deicing chemical, the contractor is responsible for providing all pumping equipment required for transfer into storage tanks. Magnesium chloride must be packaged exclusively in 500 kg bags, with no alternative bulk packaging such as supersacks permitted. Product acceptance will be determined solely through documentation review of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and certifications, with no laboratory testing or inspections conducted upon delivery. All deliveries must be made directly to the designated building location within Misawa Air Base, with the specific delivery address referenced on page 4 of the RFQ solicitation document.
