About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a Department of the Air Force grounds maintenance contract at Tinian North Field (Solicitation FA5025SS0007). The Q&A clarifies key contractor responsibilities including: leveling grounds around runways and taxiways, removing roots and trees, providing a secured laydown/shop area with parking on North Field, and maintaining specific ground maintenance boundaries (10 ft from roads, 150 ft from runways, 50 ft from taxiways). Additional critical details include contractor requirements to handle green waste disposal, coordinate with an EOD representative along the Broadway fence line due to potential UXOs, and complete mandatory cultural resources awareness training before commencing work.
The contract involves comprehensive grounds maintenance services to promote healthy grass, trees, shrubs, and plants while maintaining a professional appearance. The contractor must develop a maintenance schedule meeting specified mowing/cutting height requirements and be prepared to clear large rocks and trees within designated site areas. The government will provide an EOD representative for safety during clearing/excavation work and designate a specific laydown area, with the contractor assuming full responsibility for equipment security in this publicly accessible historic area.
