673d Civil Engineer Squadron Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK

STATEMENT OF WORK
FXBS 17-1086 - Install Roller Floor for Pallets Building 11575
SECTION 1: PROJECT INFORMATION AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1.1 PROJECT LOCATION: This Open Market project, FXBS 17-1086, shall be completed as a routine requirement at building 11575, on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. Project hours are standard work hours.
1.2 UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS: Escort will be required for all work in this area.
1.3 PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Remove section of raised floor in Room 112 and install roller floor for pallets. Install carpet tiles in Rooms 115 & 118.
1.4 WORKMANSHIP: All work shall be accomplished in accordance with all applicable building and fire codes. Contractor shall field verify all measurements, quantities, or values stated by the Government. Liquidated damages shall be assessed for work that is not finished within the scheduled performance period.
1.5 WORKSITE: The contractor shall limit the work to the areas indicated by the government.
The contractor shall make every effort not to disturb or obstruct portions of the facilities still occupied by the government. The contractor shall coordinate and schedule work with the 673 CES/CEN office prior to the start of any operation. The contractor shall dispose of all construction debris off base at an approved disposal facility.
1.6 SITE SECURITY AND PROTECTION: The contractor shall make every effort to secure the work site, allowing only authorized personnel to enter the work site. The contractor shall protect the site from damage from weather, vandalism, and/or theft.
1.7 DAMAGE TO EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS: The contractor shall be responsible to repair any and all damage incurred to existing Real Property/Grounds due to poor workmanship at no cost to the government. Contractor shall not park or drive on sidewalk or grassy/snowy areas. Damage incurred shall be repaired at no cost to the government.
1.8 HEALTH/SAFETY: The contractor shall be responsible for compliance with OSHA and AFOSH standards. The contractor shall maintain a clean and debris free site at all times. The contractor shall keep driveways and entrances into and around the work site clear at all times.
The contractor shall not use driveways or entrances as employee parking or storage of materials unless otherwise stated. The contractor shall minimize storage of materials and equipment on site.
1.9 GREEN PROCUREMENT: Contractor must incorporate “green procurement” principles into the design of their projects. Specifically, consult the EPA’s web site at www.epa.gov/greenerproducts for a listing of the products that have been mandated as green procurement requirements for purchases http://www.epa.gov/greenerproducts

SECTION 2: DESCRIPTION OF WORK AND SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
2.1 Remove 2’x2’ raised floor tiles in southwest corner of room 112. Removed section is 10 tiles by 17 tiles totaling 680 square feet.
2.2 Demo raised floor structure in area of removed tiles and reconfigure for new edge. Fabricate and install new side panels at edge of exposed raised floor to enclose raised floor plenum.
Paint new side panels and new exposed west wall formerly below access floor to match including 1 coat of primer and 2 coats paint. Coordinate color with user and by 673 CES before application.
2.3 Remove all associated piping and appurtenances to floor mounted AC unit in area of demoed raised floor and cap.
2.4 Demo ~500LF existing wall cove base in rooms 112, 115, & 118 and Install new 6” wall cove base in rooms 112, 115, & 118. Color selection to be coordinated with the user and by 673 CES before installation.
2.5 Install pre-constructed stairs from raised floor to concrete slab on west end of new floor ball mat. Stairs to be steel construction, 3'-6" width, 36” handrail, metal stringers, and metal treads.
Paint to match. 1 coat of primer and 2 coats paint. Coordinate color with user and by 673
CES.
2.6 Install new floor ball mat movement system consisting of 4’x12’ fiberglass panels with 2”x2” grid including ball transfers with spacing for 8” centers, side/entry guides, and anchors. Ball mat system must be capable of moving containers weighing up to 13,000 lbs. Manufactured by “KieTek International” or approved equal. See drawing G1 for panel layout detail.
2.7 Install new luxury composite vinyl tile on (E) raised floor in all areas of rooms 112, 115, &
118. Prepare surface and remove any damaged laminate from existing floor tiles. Area of new vinyl tile installation is 4320 square feet. Vinyl tiles to be ASTM F 1700 Class III Type B. Minimum 1/8” thick with wear layer of 0.02”. Vinyl tile and color selection to be coordinated with the user and by 673 CES before installation.
