It is elevated on support legs. ~137’ above ground level.
PWS N/A
For the repair to the vent our standard repair for that would be grinding out the corrosion, bolting a backing plate to the affected area, recoating with potable safe two-part epoxy and then painting to match the exterior roof color. This method does not require welding, would this method be accepted?
Yes, but the government will require shop drawings, specifications, and other documents showing the exact materials and sizes used.
General question N/A
1.During the cleaning process does the water discharge need to be filtered through a sediment bag and or drain nearby or can we discharge directly on the ground? 2.
Does the water have to be de-chlorinated.
No water can be directly discharged to nearby ground surface. The water will not have to be de-chlorinated.
The water will naturally dechlorinate while running off.
General question N/A How long is the required unit specific OPSEC training and is that done onsite or online?
OPSEC training will be done onsite during the preconstruction meeting approximately 1 hour.
PWS N/A
In the deliverables I did not see anything about a report only the DVD inspection, our standard deliverable is a detailed report with high-definition photos of all components and a Video inspection of the internal of the tank. Is this the deliverable that you are wanting?
Yes.
Period of performance question N/A Approximate last date of cleaning & inspection? 45 days after Date of Contract (ADC).
General question N/A Is each tank hatch opening 20” X 20” or larger without obstructions that would prevent entry?
Yes.
General question N/A
Will the government provide more details of the steel repairs that will need to be completed?
the size of the neck, how it connects the aluminum hood, etc.…..?
Bolted connection to steel tank. Hole through steel is approximately 2”x7” and needs to be repaired to prevent intrusion or outside contaminants.
PWS N/A
The PWS states the requirement for corrosion repair of the steel reservoir (Building 1407). Since this portion of the project requires specific credentials to complete, Will the government allow a subcontractor to be used for that scope of work?
Yes.
