QUESTIONS & ANSWERS – Dayroom Upgrades
1. Are you expecting one entity to carry out all of the work in this project scope? Or is the contracting entity able to bring in additional partners?
Additional partners / subcontracting and how to address this requirement is allowed and at the discretion of the winning company.
2. Assuming we are able to bring in additional contractors for the projects, does their information and credentials need to be submitted at the time of the bid or at a later date?
It can be submitted at a later date as the project begins.
3. To confirm, for this bid, does all pricing for the contractor’s and designer’s work need to be included in addition to the furniture and equipment?
It shall be an all-inclusive quote. The contract will be awarded as a Firm Fixed Price contract.
4. Are you wanting to see and have additional designs for these spaces explored, or is the design to remain what is discussed in the spec sheet? (i.e. changes to the orientation of the snack back vs.
the theatre from its current configuration, etc.)
The designs should follow the guidance of the Performance Work Statement. Creative freedom is encouraged but should stay within scope of the intended design. Multiple designs can be submitted.
5. Are you open to suggestions for materials outside of what is noted in the spec sheet?
See answer to question #4.
6. With regard to the sound proofing of the spaces, is the expectation that the acoustic work be done to the walls themselves and reconstructed to be more sound efficient, or is the preference that acoustic panels be applied to the walls on the interior of the room?
Acoustic Panels to be applied to the wall – no deconstruction / altering of the building itself.
7. With regard to the theater seating, were accessible seats factored into the count of twelve for that first row?
There should 4 seats per row. No special accessible seating required due to there being no elevator.
8. Will the game table in the existing theatre be able to be reused in the new sports bar room?
Yes, that could be a possibility.
9. Does the Mountain Home AFB have relationships with specific agencies or associations whose services are required to be given preference over others?
No.
10. Are there specific warranty requirements for either the furniture, appliances/equipment, or both?
Standard commercial warranties. 1 Year.
11. Are there specific requirements set by Mountain Home AFB for lumens or light candles to be met within an on-base space?
There are no specific requirements for lumens. Lights in the theater should be dimmable. The
Base would prefer LED lights over florescent.
