About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document providing clarifications on solicitation FA488726Q0016 for Modular Maintenance Workstations and Storage Cabinets at Luke Air Force Base, issued by the Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command. The Government clarified that layout drawings and 3D renderings have been added to SAM.gov showing the required configuration for five workstations. Cabinets must measure 60" W x 33.15" H x 27.75" D with one shelf each, stationary mounting (no casters), and a pierced/dog-hole style top for securing to hardwood workbench tops.

The Government does not require specific brand names for components. Bench legs must be heavy-duty steel, approximately 33" in height, supporting hardwood tops. Footrest shelves must be steel connecting between legs at specified spans (120" and 96") for stability and ergonomics. Accessory frames do not require the "Nexus" brand but must meet 60"W x 48"H dimensions with equivalent functionality including power rails and shelves. Monitor arms must be single-monitor, column-mounted units supporting at least 20 lbs, and utility bins must be open-top steel trays measuring 60"W x 2"H x 4"D. The Government retains responsibility for disposal of old furniture; contractors must remove all packaging and debris generated from their work. The deadline for questions was April 14th, 2026, with quotes due no later than April 17th, 2026 via email.

Text version

The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to all timely questions received from industry.

Question 1: Layout & Configuration: The solicitation lists numerous parts (tops, legs, cabinets) but does not provide a drawing showing how they should be assembled. Can the Government provide a layout or rendering of the intended design?

Answer 1: Yes. A layout drawing and 3D rendering are now attached to the solicitation notice on SAM.gov. These documents illustrate the Government's required configuration for the five (5) workstations. Offerors shall propose a solution that meets this layout and design.

Question 2: Cabinets: Can you provide more details for the six (6) cabinets?

Answer 2:

· Dimensions: The required dimensions are 60" Width x 33.15" Height x 27.75" Depth.

· Shelves: The requirement is for one (1) shelf per cabinet.

· Mobility: The cabinets shall be stationary and do not require casters or forklift bases.

· Pierced Top Feature: This feature refers to a perforated or "dog-hole" style top surface on the cabinet housing, which allows it to be secured to the underside of the hardwood workbench tops.

Question 3: Part Numbers: The Salient Characteristics list part numbers like "Bench Leg ST 175" and "Footrest Shelf 120BL" that are not easily identifiable. Can the Government provide a manufacturer name or generic specifications?

Answer 3: The part numbers listed in the original Salient Characteristics were for reference only from the initial quote used to build the requirement. The Government is not requiring a specific brand. Offerors shall provide parts that are equivalent in form, fit, and function to those shown in the newly attached layout drawings and meet the following general specifications:

· Bench Legs: Shall be stationary, heavy-duty steel legs, approximately 33" in height, designed to support the hardwood tops.

· Foot Rests: Shall be steel shelves that connect between the bench legs at the appropriate length (e.g., 120" and 96" spans) to provide stability and an ergonomic footrest.

Question 4: Workbench Accessories: Is "Nexus" a required brand for the accessory frames? What are the specifications for the other accessories?

Answer 4:

· Accessory System: "Nexus" is not a required brand. Offerors may propose an equivalent system of accessory frames, power rails, and shelves that meets the 60"W x 48"H frame dimensions and provides the same functionality.

· Monitor Arm: The monitor arm shall be a single-monitor, column-mounted arm capable of supporting a monitor weighing at least 20 lbs.

· Utility Bin: The utility bin shall be an open-top steel tray with the dimensions 60"W x 2"H x 4"D, designed to attach to the accessory frame.

Question 5: Administrative & Logistical Tasks:

Answer 5:

· Disposal of Old Furniture: The Government is responsible for the disposal of all old/replaced furniture. The contractor's price shall not include this task.

· Disposal of New Refuse: The Contractor is responsible for the complete cleanup and removal of all packaging, trash, and debris generated from their work and materials.
