Question and Answers

FA488723Q0051 – Secondary Crash Phone Network

1. The SOW mentions delays to 17 base organizations, however, it also says the requirement is a minimum of 8 ports to alert first responders. Are 8 ports enough?

Yes, 8 ports are what is required.

2. Do you want a total IP/SIP solution or will there be any analog endpoints

All endpoints will be analog.

3. Will we be leveraging an existing phone system or switch, or is this a completely standalone solution?

This is a completely standalone solution.

4. Specifications indicate there are only 8 endpoints, can you describe each of them? (For example; 6 phones, 1 siren, 1 PA System)

There will no sirens or PA. There will just be analog phone endpoints selected by the Government.

5. Are there more than 1 set of preset emergency groups that could be called? (For example; 1 set of numbers for a particular emergency situation and another set of numbers for a different emergency situation) If so, how many groups of numbers are there?

No, there is only one (1) group.

6. Will rack space, power, etc. be provided?

This should not require a rack. This should be a wall mounted installation. The specifications of the unit will need to be provided to the Government POC to determine the needed space and power requirements.

7. Do you need phones supplied? If so, how many? How many Initiator phones will you need?

Company provided SCN will need to provide an Initiator, depending on the type of phone will be needed for the initiation. Please provide an optional price for the phones. The Government may purchase phones through the contractor or may use phones through the Government 56th Comm Squadron. The price of the phones will not be used to evaluate total price.

8. Do you prefer wall-mount phones or desk-top phones?

Two (2) Mounted, Six (6) Desk

9. Who should supply the Server?

The company who owns the Software. The Government does not want to lease the Server.

10. How will offers be evaluated?

Please refer to FAR clause 52.212-2 in the solicitation for specific instructions on evaluation criteria.

Specifically, please take note to include a technically acceptability statement in all offers submitted.
