Q1: What is the distance from unload to install?

The approximate distance to move the new shear from offload area to final placement point is about 500 feet.

Q2: What is the distance between the location of the old unit and the storage location?

The approximate distance to move existing shear to staging area is about 375 feet.

Q3: What type of electrical hook up is available?

Electrical hookup will be to a wall-mounted fusible single-throw safety switch provided by the Government.

Q4: Will the existing fuse box be acceptable to use or will it need to be replaced?

The Government-provided fuse box is acceptable and doesn’t need to be replaced.

Q5: What is the weight of the old machine to be removed?

The weight of the FAMCO 2596CNC is 10,000 lb.

Q6: What are the dimensions of the old machine to be removed?

The FAMCO 2596CNC is 133.5”L x 69”W x 55”H.

Q7: Are there any special lifting instructions for the old machine?

Leave the shear on a shipping skid during all moving operations and until ready to position at the operating location. Crane or hoist rigging is permissible when the sling is rigged under the skids. If the rear skirt of the shear is first removed, it is permissible to rig slings beneath the bed and crosshead. The equipment can be lifted using hooks, chains, manila rope, nylon rope, or wire rope.

Q8: How many personnel will need to be trained on the new machine?

Six personnel will require training.
