Amerex Halon1211 inspection & repair for Down Tube, Valve Assembly & Soldering Joint

Questions & Answers

(1) The solicitation mentions the government will be supplying any needed Halon extinguishing agent. Will this be provided in a tank or will we need our own tank to put the agent into? The Government has three 2500 lb. Halon Cylinders: #1 (Full), #2 (Half Full), and #3 (less than a ¼ full). The Government does not have a halon recovery unit to transfer halon for the 150 lb.

extinguishers to the 2500 lb. cylinders.

(2) Dip tube and down tube are used interchangeably throughout the solicitation. Please confirm that those terms are both referring to the down tube where the soldering joint is being inspected. Dip tube is referring to the down tube. Yes, the down tube soldered joint needs to be inspected and pressure checked for leaks.

(3) Period of Performance begins 22 Jun immediately after the award is announced. Is there consideration for shipping and lead time of supplies/materials? Inspections required to be complete no later than 1 Oct 2021. Performance can accept a delay for shipping and materials assuming performance is complete by 1 Oct 2021.
