Questions and Answers
FA4855-15-R-0005
Question 1: Looking at appendix A, questions that contractors will need to know at time of bidding would include but not limited to: Size of Hoods, Length of ducts, Are there Horizontal ducts, and possible blue prints for the larger systems for access panel locations.
Answer 1: The table below lists the approximate sizes of the hoods and ducts for each CLIN. The actual sizes may vary. In addition, the drawing below (not to scale) is provided to show the duct configuration at the Dining Facility.
Question 2: [M]ore clarification on the air return vent cleaning and the kitchen exhaust/air return operational testing should of been included.
Answer 2: The required cleaning of return air vents is surface cleaning of the vents only. The inside of the return air ducts are not required to be cleaned. Operational testing entails operating the kitchen exhaust systems after cleaning to ensure all hood components are functioning properly as listed in Appendix C of the PWS.
