Questions and Answers- Heavy Duty Alignment Rack

1. We have a lift that could potentially meet the spec at a higher capacity except for the clause that states “•Max wheelbase 158 inches.” There is no such lift that meets this specification unless the verbiage were to be changed to •Max wheelbase 158 inches for 4 wheel alignment.

Answer: We are seeking a comprehensive wheel alignment system—including a lift, computer system, and all necessary accessories—that can accommodate our entire vehicle fleet. While most of our vehicles consist of sedans, standard, and extended cab pickup trucks, we also service larger vehicles such as ambulances and shuttle buses, many of which feature dual rear wheels. To ensure full fleet coverage, the system must support a maximum wheelbase of up to 158 inches. Although this extended capacity will primarily be used for our larger vehicles, it is essential that the system remains efficient and compatible with our more common, smaller fleet vehicles as well.

2. Would our alignment scissor lift be considered equal to, providing it meets or exceeds the required the specifications of course minus the 4-posts?

Answer: So long as their lifts have built in slip plates and turn plates integrated into the lift.

3. What are the floor depth and overhead requirements?

Answer: The floor depth is 6 inches and height inside the shop, from floor to overhead hoist is 24’ 8”.
