KEY LOCKOUT BOX FOR DORITORIES
Statement of Need
2/20/2024
1. Requirement: The 6th CES/CEIH is requesting the purchase of a key lock-out box for the dormitories. They are requesting purchase of an outdoor unit that would have 600 individual doors/bins for storage of extra room keys. Additionally, the unit would need security measures to ensure residents can access only their rooms keys. Unit needs to have a camera, and fingerprint scanner to increase safety and accountability of keys.
MacDill dormitories currently has 6 buildings and 458 rooms that are available for residency by Unaccompanied military personnel assigned to MacDill Air Force base. For security reasons, all the rooms in these buildings are accessed by a key and lock system and the door self-locks upon closing. Due to this design, the Airman Dorm Leader (ADL) team receives multiple calls a week for residents who have locked themselves out.
2. Characteristics: 1 Key lock out box with 600 individual secure key storage boxes. Password or fingerprint protected access, allowing only the resident to access their specific key. System must be able to provide a log of who and when someone accessed the system. System must have a camera to record transaction to further security. System must provide administrator a report of when keys are not returned in time, the ability to control from a remote location.

To be considered “equal”, offered products must meet the following salient functional, physical and performance characteristics:
600 capacity key control system, that will help dorm residents and ADLs to securely manage and track keys. System has advanced key monitoring capabilities and allows for each key to be secured in its own box. Include salient characteristics that identify what the product is and how it can meet the minimum standards required to be acceptable. System will allow remote access for administrators to issue keys to residents who are locked out.
