FA480926Q0008 DPM Packing and Crating_ Question Answers
1. How many families or shipments are expected annually?
2024 numbers: Schedule I = 6, Schedule II = 62, Schedule III = 24
2. Is there an incumbent contractor and are there any transition requirements we should know about?
Yes, explained in Appendix G
3. What is the required distance radius from the base for our facility and what is the minimum warehouse square footage required?
No distance requirement but needs to be a single warehouse that is DoD approved or meets all requirements in Appendix D (https://www.ustranscom.mil/dtr/part-iv/dtr_part_iv_app_A-D.pdf). If not approved, we will have to work on approval prior to operations. The contractor needs to ensure they meet pickup and delivery timelines in Appendix G. We also need to be able to inspect it quarterly. They need to ensure they can safely store shipments moving under the contract, both inbound and outbound. They also need to ensure they protect our government containers. There is no minimal requirement yet, they are working on adding it to the regs and it will be 5,000 sq ft. They need to keep in mind if they don’t have enough storage space for the moves and they can no longer take any shipments then they are out of compliance.
