STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Annual Testing

Amended 11 August 2025

1. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: All Fire Fighting Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), MSA G1 components are to be annually tested in accordance with NFPA 1852: Selection, Care & Maintenance, and repair of Open-Circuit SCBA for Emergency Services.

2. SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor will furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required to perform annual flow tests completed on MSA G1 Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus’.

3. REQUIREMENTS: The work to be accomplished must follow the requirements listed below,

3.1 Contractor personnel to test and perform the annual flow test requirement must be MSA Care Technician Certified.

3.2 All tests will be conducted annually in accordance with NFPA 1852 para. 7.5.1 and will be performed in accordance with NFPA 1852 para. 7.5.5 and 7.5.6 requirements.

3.3 Documentation of testing and compliance will be provided after testing is complete.

3.4 All MSA G1 Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus’ will be tested during one annual visit which includes the following:

a. MSA G1 Packs

b. MSA G1 Masks

c. MSA Escape Packs

d. MSA G1 RIT Packs with Mask

4. LOCATION: The contractor will accomplish the annual testing on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, NC in the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Maintenance Room located at 2020 Jabara Avenue, Building 4601.

5. SCHEDULING: To schedule a date and time to perform the annual testing, prior coordination for the testing/repair shall be coordinated at minimum of 14 calendar days in advance with the Fire Chief or designated representative.
