Text version

.) Section 1.2.2.5 of the Performance Work Statement states "Water services and sewer laterals serving the affected units are to be capped at the mains and abandoned in place." Key Notes 12 and 15 on drawing C-1 for each site contradicts the Performance Work Statement in that the notes indicate the existing sewer line is to remain and the water line is to be abandoned in place. Please clarify to what point the existing utilities are to removed. If it's the governments intent to remove the existing utilities back to the mains, can the government supply information on depths of each main? All existing utility lines shall be capped at the main and abandoned in place.

.) Section 1.2.9 of the Performance Work Statement states "In the event the Contractor discovers materials suspected of containing asbestos that is not identified to be removed in the plans and specifications, the Contractor shall notify the Contracting Officer." General Notes 10 on drawings C-1 for each site states "Contractor shall reference and coordinate demolition with the environmental survey and specifications prior to any demolition taking place." Will the government be providing the specification and/or the environmental survey? Or is it to be assumed there is no environmental (asbestos or lead) issues? Yes, the government will provide the environmental survey i.e. abatement report. There is asbestos in some parts of the units.

.) Is there an abatement report for asbestos? Yes, abatement reports are available for all 3 units. Please see attached documents.

.) Is sod or seed required for the disturbed areas? If so, will the contractor be required to water the sod until established? Yes, sod will be required for the disturbed areas and the contractor will be required to water the sod until established.
