About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers from a sources sought process for War Room Consoles, issued by the 633d Contracting Squadron at Langley Air Force Base. The Q&A covers key design specifications including the purpose of a 30" high clear acrylic panel (primarily for sound mitigation), console depth requirements, and display mounting needs. The 1st Fighter Wing indicates flexibility on console depth, with approximately 24' of space allocated to support 4 rows of seating, and each row having 6' of space. The agency is seeking a solution for an 85" Samsung TV display, requiring a rolling stand/frame for a debriefing station behind the consoles. Pricing sensitivity was noted, with the government expressing a desire to adhere closely to their predetermined budget.

The related federal contract opportunity involves procurement of War Room Consoles, with a site visit scheduled for April 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm EST. Potential vendors must contact Kelly Voigts at kelly.voigts.3@us.af.mil for facility access and pass processing. War Room Questions and Answers from sources sought

• What is the purpose of the 30” high clear acrylic panel in the back?

o Is this for germ mitigation?

Somewhat, as the initial design selection was during COVID pandemic.

o Is this for sound mitigation?

Sound mitigation between rows was the primary purpose.

o Are you open to other solutions for the clear acrylic?

Yes – should not be higher that displays.

• Depth of console:

o Is 30” overall depth a hard requirement?

No o Due to the great deal of depth to the room, would the 1st fighter wing be open to a deeper console surface?

We have designated about 24’ to support 4 rows with seating, making 6’ per row

• How critical is pricing?

o We have a budget. We want to stick as close to it as we can.

• What is the location of the current display and what would it be mounted to?

o The display is an 85” Samsung TV. We are looking for a rolling stand/frame to be used at the debriefing station/conference table located behind the consoles.
