Kit, Air Conditioner Clutch
Our current fleet of ACU-808 air conditioners do not operate below 40-degrees because the compressor doesn’t disengage; so they require modifications to operate at these particular temperature ranges. TLD is the manufacturer of the ACU-808 air conditioner and has manufactured this particular clutch kit to continue operations below 40-degrees. The installation of the clutch kit allows an air conditioner to provide ventilating air in any ambient environment above 0-degrees and air conditioned air in any ambient environment above 30-degrees. The “True Vent Mode” modification consists of installing an electric clutch which can disengage the refrigeration compressor so that the unit delivers ventilating air at the temperature leaving the blower. Certain safety and interlock switches are required to prevent engaging the compressor at high engine speed, to engage and reengage the compressor rapidly, and to operate the condenser fan at full speed in cold ambient air. The kit includes all the required parts and wiring harnesses that are compatible with our fleet of ACU-808 air conditioners. Below is a list of all the required parts to effectively modify and enable the air conditioner for operation below 40-degrees.
