About this file

This is a Statement of Need for the 9th Communications Squadron Atrium Repair project at Beale Air Force Base, California.

The 9th Communications Squadron requires the removal and replacement of five (5) exterior shade canopies, each approximately 30 feet by 30 feet, at their facility located at 6252 B Street, Building 2445, Beale AFB, CA 95903. The existing shade canopies have exceeded their service life due to weather exposure and age-related degradation, resulting in material wear, reduced tension integrity, and diminished protective capability. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and professional services to remove the existing canopies and install new commercial-grade fire-resistant shade cloth canopies in red, blue, and yellow colors. The work includes fabrication, delivery, installation, and any required hardware replacement using existing cables and hardware, with component replacement only as necessary to ensure proper fitness and structural integrity. All work must comply with applicable safety, structural, and installation standards including UFC, AFOSH, NFPA, OSHA, CBC, and Beale AFB supplemental requirements. The contractor shall measure all canopy locations, fabricate the new canopies, and coordinate delivery and installation with the Government Point of Contact at least two to three weeks prior to anticipated delivery. The fabrication lead time is approximately 8–10 weeks, with all canopies installed during the same installation period. Installation, assembly, and site cleanup shall occur the same day of delivery unless otherwise coordinated, during Monday–Friday business hours between 0730–1630, excluding federal holidays. The contractor must obtain Entry Access List authorization for personnel, provide vehicle identification at the Wheatland Gate, ensure compliance with base traffic regulations and cellular phone operation policies, and provide a minimum 1-year warranty on workmanship and materials.
