About this file

This document appears to be a specification sheet for a 20-ton, skid-mounted air-cooled chiller unit. It outlines the salient characteristics and mandatory components required to fulfill this requirement, including details on the compressor, chilled water pump, refrigerant, heat exchanger, condenser, ambient controls, isolation valves, hail guard, flow switch, factory insulation, vibration isolation, and BACnet/IP communication.

The related federal contract opportunity is a sources sought notice for information only, not a request for proposal or quotation. The Air Force Global Strike Command is seeking to acquire 7 of these skid-mounted chiller units to be delivered to Dyess AFB. Interested parties are required to submit their packages by June 14, 2024 at 12:00 PM CST. No other details on pricing, set-asides, or award dates are provided in the available information.

Break down Salient Characteristics and Specs absolutely needed to fulfill the requirement.

Below is a breakdown of all mandatory components for building 4300 Skid Mounted Chiller.

ITEM

NUMBER DESCRIPTION QUANTITY UNIT

0001 20 Nominal Tons Air Cooled Chiller:

• Chiller must be 20 Tons

1 EA

Unit Mounted Main Disconnect:

• Panel will be 460-volt 60 hertz 3 phase – Single

Point Connections

Compressor:

• Compressors will be Scroll Type

Chilled Water Pump:

• Pump Size is no less than 3HP

Full Factory Refrigerant Charge:

• Acceptable refrigerants are R-545B, R-410A, HFC-134A

Freeze Protection:

• Requires separate 115v power supply

• Low ambient lockout to prevent chilled water lines from freezing

Heat Exchanger:

• Shell & Tube or Plated heat exchangers are acceptable for the chiller set up

Condenser:

• Must be Microchannel

• These coils have less depth and result in lower air pressure drop and better air flow transitions

Ambient Controls:

• Low ambient control to 0 degrees Fahrenheit

• Max ambient control to 115 degrees Fahrenheit

Refrigerant Isolation Valves:

• Discharge isolation valve is required for isolating compressor discharge

Hail Guard:

• Protective hail guard is required to protect condenser coil in the event of inclement weather

Flow Switch:

• Is needed to monitor and control flow rate of chilled water within the system

Factory Insulation:

• Needed to prevent surface condensation and moisture problems

Rubber and Shear Vibration Isolation:

• Will protect chilled water piping from vibrations produced by mechanical equipment

Factory Mounted controller:

• BACnet/IP data communication protocol is needed to allow the chiller to communicate with a building automation system

Skid Mount Base Plate:

• A skid base plate will be required to allow the

HVAC shop to move the chiller by means of 10K forklift

0002 Flexible Hose:

• Hoses will be no less than 50 feet and no more than 200 feet in length

• Hoses will include Camlok style fittings

4 EA

0003 MC Cable:

• Cable will be no less than 100 feet and no more than 400 feet in length with male/female connections

• Metal Clad Cable is required for corrosion resistance
