Questions and Answers for Building 8130 Air Compressor’s

Questions related to Air Compressor 8130:

· What is the approximate distance between the compressor and the tank?

· The distance between the compressor and the tank is approximately 5 feet. (tubing is ran from tank to units so there isn’t a distance between that.)

· Is there any special safety training and/or classes required for our installation and commissioning crew?

· The Contractor is not responsible for any training to access the base for the installation or commissioning of the air compressor.

· The Government does require the contractor to provide a basic user operator training (30 Minutes minimum) within 10 days of the installation completion, SOW para 1.5.

· Is this air compressor and their installation a replacement for existing machines?

Yes, this is a replacement for an existing air compressor Curtis, 60 HP, RS series air compressor.

If yes,

· Does the old unit need to be uninstalled?

· Yes, it currently bolted to the floor and has an airline and electrical line. Once disconnected from appropriate points it will have to be moved by dolly or hand truck to the edge of the door then by forklift.

· Does the old compressor need moved? If so, how far away?

· Yes, it will be moved from the inside location to an outdoor area of grass, located approximately 20 ft away from the original site.

· Does the old unit need to be disposed of?

· No, once the air compressor is relocated, the Government will assume responsibility for the old air compressor.

o However, the contractor is responsible for disposal of all other debris and unserviceable materials generated under this contract such as scrap, salvage material, industrial waste, non-recyclable materials and equipment/material not listed on hand-receipts shall be disposed of off-base by the contractor in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Hand receipt items require turn-in action by the contractor when the listed items have to be replaced, SOW, para.3.

· Is there any other documentation or information about the installation component of this opportunity?

· No, the existing air compressor is a much older unit, we do not have additional information regarding the uninstallation of the old unit or installation of the new unit. We are extending the solicitation end date and offering a site visit on 31 August 2022 at 0900. Please RSVP at Christi.Murphy.1@us.af.mil. Additionally, we have provided photos to show the connections.

Amendment 0003: Updates to Questions and Answers after the site visit:

1. Will the Government provide the forklift?

a. Yes, 6.3.6. A forklift and forklift driver can be provided if required.

2. During the installation the Government will not be able to use the air compressor, therefore, how long can the Government be out of commission.

a. The government with notice of installation, can make appropriate accommodations. The air compressor should not be out of commission longer than 2 days.

3. Does the Government want a connections for a portable air connection?

a. No.

4. Do you want a standard warranty?
