Key specifications clarified include the requirement for an electrical winch on the main landing gear dolly (not mechanical) due to aircraft weight considerations, and storage containers that must withstand North Dakota's harsh weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, and wet conditions. Questions and Answers

319 AMXS Disabled

Aircraft Wheel Dolly

319 RW

23 Jan 2025

1. I need to know where the equipment is being picked up to be delivered to Grand Forks ND.

We are looking for a vendor to provide the equipment and provide FOB Destination delivery directly to:

319th AMXS

701 Eielson St Building 609

Grand Forks AFB, ND 58205

2. Please provide me the manufacture name of this solicitation

Any manufacturer who can provide a product IAW salient characteristics will be considered

3. Can your team provide the primary aircraft type or the range of aircrafts it believes it may use the aircraft recovery dolly for?

The aircraft the dolly will be used primarily for the RQ-4. With Grand Forks being a transient airfield, it may be used on C-130s, B-1s, F-15s, F-16s, F-22s, F-35s, E-11s and any other aircraft within the maximum weight capabilities

4. We noted the need for a storage container for protection from the weather. Are there any more guidelines for what could be considered or not considered (allowed)?

The crates will need to be built to withstand harsh environments of North Dakota winters, as well as being able to withstand harsh heat and wet conditions and are built specifically for the skates. If they were to be stored in a wood crate we run the risk of deterioration from weather conditions and deterioration of the weight of the skates themselves.

5. We note one of the requirements is for a winch. Can we assume that a mechanical, “winch-like device” would also be allowed?

We require an electrical winch on the main landing gear (larger skate) due to the weight of the aircraft. The electrical winch completely eliminates stress on aircraft and personnel where the mechanical winch like tool would create massive amounts of stress especially when it comes to potentially pulling aircraft as big as a B-1 up on to a skate.
