RE: Pre- Demolition Asbestos and Lead Paint Inspection
Building 1887 - Dog Kennels, NZAS 14-006
Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana
TD&H Project No. 14-268-070
Dear Ms. George, In accordance with your Notice to Proceed, Thomas, Dean, & Hoskins, Inc. (TD&H) performed a confirmation-of-materials pre-demolition asbestos and lead paint inspection on November 13, 2014, on Building 1887, which is scheduled for demolition. The inspection was performed in order to confirm that building materials and painted surfaces identified during the inspection performed on November 13, 2009, were the same and to determine if any renovation of the building since that time may have occurred. The original report, titled "Pre-Demolition Asbestos
Inspection and Lead-In-Paint Survey - Building 1887" and dated January 7, 2010, is contained in the attachment.
The 2010 report was in compliance with existing state and federal regulations in force at the time. Although the regulations have changed since that time, the methods used for sampling and reporting for both asbestos and lead in paint will fulfill present regulations.
RESULTS
All building materials described in the 2010 report remain, and no new materials were observed.
All painted surfaces were confirmed as those that were found in the 2009 inspection.
RECOMMENDATIONS
All recommendations listed in the 2010 report remain valid.
Ms. Jennifer George

LIMITATIONS
This asbestos and lead paint inspection report was prepared based on information gathered during one site visit and results contained in the original 2010 report. The inspection report has been prepared to confirm that information concerning the various types of building materials that were considered suspect for containing asbestos and lead paint remained the same from the original November 13, 2009, inspection and to inform the owner of any new building materials that may have been identified and tested positive for asbestos or lead-based paint.
Most building components were visible and accessible at the time of our site visits. However, additional suspect materials may be encountered during demolition. This asbestos and lead paint inspection report is intended for use by the United States Air Force and their clients. The scope of services performed by Thomas Dean & Hoskins, Inc., may not be appropriate to satisfy the needs of other users, and any use or re-use of this document, or the findings presented herein is at the sole risk of the user.
