About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file detailing site requirements and specifications for the installation and training of a Roland XG-640 printer with optional High Volume Dryer at Whiteman Air Force Base.
Delivery and Installation Requirements: The equipment will be delivered to the Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) loading dock at Whiteman AFB and requires forklift service to transport it to the Corrosion Control facility on the second floor. All entry points, corridors, and doorways meet the minimum 36-inch width requirement. Electrical Infrastructure: The installation space confirms availability of two separate standard 110V outlets (4 total receptacles) backed by a 20-amp dedicated breaker as required. Environmental Controls: While the facility can adjust room temperature to the ideal 72–77°F range during equipment use, the HVAC system is unreliable and has a tendency to turn off intermittently. Network and Software: The printer will connect via Ethernet; however, administrator privileges for the operator computer to install VersaWorks 7 RIP software cannot be confirmed at this time. Security and Access: Whiteman AFB has restricted access and requires contractor escort to restricted areas. Vendor technicians must provide names, driver's license information (state/number), and birthdates for placement on the Entry Access List (EAL) prior to the scheduled delivery date. Ink Configuration: Seven colors are specified: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Orange, Green, and White (2 cartridges). Training and Installation: Installation is required with a single 1–2 hour training session to cover basic functions, software updates, and operating skills for creating, printing, and cutting Gerber files, in accordance with the Performance Work Statement.

1. Delivery & Site Handling Logistics
• Offloading Equipment: Does the receiving facility/loading dock at Whiteman AFB have a forklift available on-site for offloading, or will liftgate delivery service be required? We do have a loading gate at LRS where it will be received, we would probably still need to schedule a forklift to get it into the Corrosion facility.
• Building Accessibility: Are all entry points, corridors, and doorways along the delivery route to the installation area at least 36 inches wide? Yes
• Installation Location: Will the equipment be installed on the 1st floor (ground floor)?
If on a higher level, is a freight elevator available? It will be on the second floor, Most likely required a forklift.
2. Power & Electrical Infrastructure
• Outlet Configuration: The Roland XG-640 unit with the optional High Volume Dryer requires two separate standard 110V outlets (providing a total of 4 receptacles) backed by a 20-amp dedicated breaker. Can you confirm the installation space meets these electrical requirements? Yes
3. Environmental Controls
• Climate Range: Can the installation facility maintain an operational temperature between 68°F–90°F (ideally 72°F–77°F) and non-condensing relative humidity between 35%–80%? The temperature for the room that the Roland will go in can be adjusted to be with in 72-77 degrees when the room is in use however, it is not very realiable and the AC/Heat has a tendency to turn off after a while.
4. Network & Software Setup
• Network Connectivity: Will the printer be connected via a direct single-computer
Ethernet connection (Cat5/6), or integrated into an existing networked local area network (LAN)? This will be connected via Ethernet
• Admin Rights: Will the designated operator computer have local administrator privileges available to complete the installation of the included VersaWorks 7 RIP software? That would be ideal but I cannot confirm the computer would have administrator properties as of yet.
5. Training & Accessories
• Scheduling: Per the PWS requirement for on-site training, are there preferred delivery dates/times or security clearance protocols required for vendor technicians to access the facility for installation and training? We would need the names, Driver license information (state/Number) and birthday of all the technicians in order to get them on an EAL for the day of install and training prior to their scheduled delivery date.
6. The ink configuration the customer would like to add to the printer is below:
Seven colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Orange, Green, and White (2 cartridges for white)
7. Second question is whether you just require installation(1-day) or if an additional full day of training is needed in addition to the installation?
Installation and Training will be in accordance with the PWS. Installation is required. A single 1-2 hour training session is required to teach members the basic functions, updates to the software and operating skills required to create, print, and cut gerber.
8. Is there a dock for offloading purposes and if it is a “limited access” location like a restricted military base?
A loading doc is available but it would require forklifting the printer to a separate location.
Contractor will be escorted to restricted areas. Delivery is on Whiteman AFB which has restricted access.
