About this file

This document is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the installation of an overhead security roll-up door at Building 1706, South Side, at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. The key requirements include:

The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, and supplies necessary to install an all-weather, high-performance overhead curtain door with motion, presence, and safety sensors on the north side of the vehicle search facility. The door must have a minimum wind load rating of Class 5 (41.77 lbs/sq ft or 128 MPH), cover a 14' x 16'1" area, and be 3-phase power. The door must have a wireless bottom edge with a transmitter and receiver, a steel control box with a disconnect, and be brown in color. The contractor is also required to install a LZR Widescan laser-based motion and presence detection system to support the door. Detailed technical specifications are provided for the door and sensor system.

PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT

FOR

INSTALLATION OF OVERHEAD DOOR IN BUILDING 1706 (SOUTH SIDE)

1. GENERAL

DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF WORK. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools and supplies necessary to accomplish the work specified below. Contractor is responsible for keeping construction area neat, secure, orderly and in compliance with OSHA standards. Contractor will be responsible for cleanup upon project completion. Contractor will be responsible for the storage, transportation, and disposal of all demolition and waste materials. The Contractor shall become familiar with all details of the work, verify all dimensions in the field and specifications stated herein and shall advise Contracting Officer of any discrepancy before performing the work. All work to be accomplished during regularly established Whiteman AFB duty hours. All Contract personnel are required to have a valid state issued photo identification card, be a US Citizen, and no criminal record to enter the installation. All work shall be coordinated with Base Civil Engineering and Structures shop personnel.

2. PRINCIPLES OF WORK

- Install an All-weather high performance overhead curtain door with a LZR Widescan, motion, presence, and safety sensor on the north side of the vehicle search facility, Bldg. 1706, Whiteman AFB, Missouri.

This style of door is designed to break away if a vehicle impacts the flexible curtain. After over a dozen vehicle strikes on existing doors this style will permit the door to re-set itself without damage when a vehicle strikes the door. Installation of this style door will save future replacement of additional doors, springs and labor like we have had in the past.

- Contractor is to demo and dispose of any existing door parts or pieces that are left from old door.

3. SPECIFICATIONS OF DOOR

- Contractor will provide an All-weather high performance door, this door is comprised of soft curtain panels that reinserts itself when dislodged. No manual intervention is required. Door has push-pull technology that drives curtain both directions to eliminate maintenance. Minimum wind load of a class 5 (41.77 lbs/sq ft or 128 MPH) is required. This door will cover a 14’ X 16’ 1” area and will be a 3 phase power installed. We require the door to have wireless bottom edge with a transmitter and receiver. This door will have a steel control box that has a disconnect that is 22” X 13” X 7” requirement. The door will be Brown . This door will have galvanized steel side guide covers and 2 BEA LZR wide scan for added safety and activation. The color of the door panels will be brown in color (8017 on the ENTREMATIC HPD color reference chart). The drum of this door will be made of steel: 1drum Ø 5-1/2”x0.118” + 1drum Ø 4- 1/100”x2/25” and the motor will have 4 poles without brake and have a power rating of 1.5kW, IP rating IP65. The Control Box will be DYNALOGIX 5 provided with: Circuit breaker, general divider, adjustable timer, push button for opening and reset, emergency stop. This door will have a IP rating: IP54, and frequency inverter.

4. SPECIFICATIONS OF MOTION SENSOR DEVICE

Contractor will install a LZR Widescan system to include the D-6 control panel that operates it. This will require additional interior and exterior safety devise and motion sensors to be mounted on the building to support the LZR Widescan system. This system will detect movement in the area of the door and adjust door so vehicle strikes do not occur. The BEA’s LZR-Widescan is a laser based, time of flight sensor used for motion, safety, and presence detection. The LZR Widescan system will have NEMA 4 rated sensor which will create a volumetric detection area. The LASER scanner will have time of flight measurement and contain 7 laser curtains. We require it to be motion and presence with a detection field width and depth of 1.2X that can be adjustable depending on user settings. The thickness of the first Curtain will be ¾” per 3 feet of the mounting height. The sensor has a typical mounting height and object size will be at 6’6” to 19’6”. The body dimensions of this sensor will be 27 ½ X 11 ¾ X 7 ¾ and will have a minimum reflectivity factor > 2% of floor and object. The emissions for this sensor will have a wavelength IR laser at 905nm with a maximum output pulse power 75 W, Class 1. The Visible LASER will have a wavelength of 650nm that will contain a maximum output CW power 3 mW, Class 3R. The LZR Widescan supply voltage will need to be 12-24 VAC and 12-30 VDC at the sensor terminal. This sensor will consume power at <2.5 W heating off and <15 W heating eco or auto. The response time will typically be set at 100ms and/or have a max at 500ms. The output for this sensor will have 2 solid-state relays that are galvanic isolation and polarity free. It will have 30 VDC output maximum switching voltage and 100 mA max switching current. The Output will have a in switching mode of :NO/NC and a frequency mode :pulsed signal. The Output will contain 1 electro-mechanic relay. The Input will have 30 VDC with a low <1V and high>10V at voltage threshold. This sensor will have a LED signal of 2 tri-colored LEDs with output status, remote control, response, and error signals. The dimensions will be 7 ¾ height X 6” wide X 4 Depth. The color of the sensor will be black and be able to rotate 45 degrees to the right and 15 degrees to the left and be lockable. The cable length of this sensor will be 30’ and have a degree of protection of NEMA 4/IP65.

- Civil Engineer Squadron will provide 230 volt single phase power supply within 3 feet from the overhead door panel.

- After completion of installation of the door and safety system, contractor will test and function check the entire system and train structure’s personnel on maintenance and functionality..
