About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document for a flooring procurement at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. The 336th Training and Readiness Squadron requires interlocking padded flooring to cover 10,000 square feet in Building 1207 for a new teaching and training space dedicated to 336th Training Group SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) students. The flooring will create a semi-padded, non-slip training surface designed to prevent injury during hands-on A2 and E2 SERE training requirements.

The required flooring tiles must meet specific technical specifications: minimum 0.5-inch thickness and maximum 1-inch thickness; construction from high-strength, impact-resistant hard rubber or polymer; interlocking capability; minimum tile size of 24 inches by 24 inches (rolled material acceptable if interlocking and minimum 24 inches wide); and base color of black with 10-60 percent neutral speckling (grey, tan, or white) as compared to solid black. The parts list example provided is the 10SIT12 Half Inch Survival Interlocking Rubber Tile in 60 percent color configuration, 2 feet by 2 feet, with a quantity requirement of 2,500 tiles to cover the full area. This procurement is associated with a pre-solicitation sources sought posting (Solicitation Number FA462026QA201) from the Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command, with no award anticipated from the sources sought phase.
