About this file

This is Amendment 01 to solicitation FA462025QA914 issued by the 92nd Contracting Squadron at Fairchild AFB for a blast deflector. The amendment provides answers to five questions from potential offerors regarding technical specifications, particularly clarifying panel dimensions and material requirements.

The amendment confirms that Panel 1 dimensions are 146-1/2" x 25-1/2" and Panel 2 is 98" x 25-1/2", correcting errors in the original specifications. It addresses questions about hardware details, bolt types (Grade 5 vs 304SS), and panel profiles - accepting 3" x 1" corrugations with 16 gauge G210 coated material for Panel Profile 1, and 2.67" x 1⁄2" corrugation with 14 gauge G90 coated material for Panel Profile 2. The amendment includes updated specifications in Attachment 1 with changes marked in red. Contractors are required to acknowledge the amendment and return one signed copy.

SUMMARY OF CHANGES

The purpose of this Amendment is to:

1. Provide answers to questions posed by potential offerors in response to this solicitation.

Q1: I am seeing some conflicting information on this RFQ. The Attachment dimensions for each are, Panel 1(description) - 146-1/2” x 2-1/2” – Print, Panel 1 show 146-1/2” x 25”, Profile 1 shows 25-1/2” wide. Panel 2 (description) 98” x 25-1/2”, Panel 2 dimension – 98” x 25” and profile 2 shows 25-1/2” I’m guessing Panel 1 is 146-1/2” x 25-1/2” and Panel 2 is 98” x 25-1/2”? Please confirm.

A1: Panel 1 is 146-1/2” x 25-1/2” and Panel 2 is 98” x 25-1/2”. The government made an error in Attach. 1 – Item List, Blast Deflector Specs when transcribing over the specs from the Panel Specs drawing. The specs have been corrected and are annotated in red in Attach. 1 – Item List, Blast Deflector Specs (Amend 01).

Q2: Also are there any additional details regarding hardware? Are the bolts; socket head, hex, thumb screws…?

What is the OD of the flat washers? Any additional details on the half oval washers? Details on anti-seize?

A2: The government has added additional descriptive details to the above items in Attach. 1 – Item List, Blast Deflector Specs (Amend 01) and changes are annotated in red.

Q3: Another question on the grade 5 bolt ~ Grade 5. Manufactured from medium carbon steel and hardened for greater strength and durability, a grade 5 bolt is distinguished by 3 radial lines and promises tensile strengths between 105,000 and 120,000 psi. They are most commonly found in automotive applications or those that require medium strength. There is a 304 stainless steel bolt that is similar to Grade 5 but not as strong. Would you like the grade 5 quoted or the 304SS bolt?

A3: The government has modified the salient characteristics of the materials in Attach. 1 – Item List, Blast Deflector Specs (Amend 01) and changes are annotated in red.

Q4: Panel Profile 1 This corrugation depth measurement is 1” on what we supply. We can supply 16 Gage with a G210 minimum galvanization coating. If we supply 3” x 1” Corrugations, 16 Gauge, G210 Coated material for “Panel Profile 1” would this be acceptable?

A4: The government has reviewed the requirement and panel specs have been updated and are annotated in Attach. 1 – Item List, Blast Deflector Specs (Amend 01).

Q5: Panel Profile 2 Your Panel Specs state the corrugation is a 2 ¾” x 5/8” profile. We can provide 2.67” x ½” Sinewave corrugated profile. You ask for a 14 Gauge material. In 14 gauge we can only offer G90 coated material.

Would it be acceptable if we supply 2.67” x ½” Corrugation, 14 Gauge, G90 Coated material for “Panel Profile 2”?

A5: The government has reviewed the requirement and panel specs have been updated and are annotated in Attach. 1 – Item List, Blast Deflector Specs (Amend 01).

Fill out blocks 15a, 15b, and 15c and provide a copy with your proposal.
