SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS

FOR

RTIC Training Kit

DRAFT

April 2024

Salient Characteristics For

RTIC Training Kit Fairchild AFB, WA

1. BACKGROUND: Air Mobility Command (AMC) has fielded a datalink system aboard the KC-135. Whereas fielding was rapid, the sustainment and training aspects were poorly considered. Out of necessity, the local units initially created their own training suites with repurposed CF-20s and a large volume of Cat 5 cable. The sole training suite the 92 OG employs is unstable and not mobile. The squadrons have repeatedly asked for a better solution to create more flexible RTIC training opportunities.

The proposed solution is an all-inclusive suite consisting of 8x pre-loaded Samsung tablets, a charging cradle, laptop, and wifi router whose sole purpose is to facilitate rapid and robust hands on RTIC training.

2. OBJECTIVES: Obtain 5x RTIC Training Kits that fulfill a stable, mobile, and all-inclusive requirement that can be rapidly employed for RTIC training. Training kits, when coupled with our self-developed ground training, will yield a benefit to FAFB aircrew across multiple squadrons.

3. REQUIREMENTS: Provide 5x RTIC Training Kits (P/N PMD1-A4020-3) with all associated hardware and software in a new, unused condition.
