QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Question 1: For instance, the lining: "100% polyester" that is "windbreaker liner" - is it to be moisture wicking?
do you have a sample of the type of lining? is it to be heavy like a polar fleece that has an internal barrier to stop the wind, but allow or moisture? Or something that is slick in feel? Do you have a weight to the lining or the wool shell? This can change the price tremendously.. as well as "tight weave" Answer 1: It was not stated in the Salient Characteristics that the liner is to be moisture wicking. The liner is lightweight compared to the outershell, it does not feel slick, and is 100% polyester.
The weight of the wool shell is 16oz, 100% wool fabric and is to be 100% tight weave wool.
Queation 2: Possibly a picture? drawing? or a description of the use it is for?
Answer 2: Please see attached images. The wool uniforms are worn by personnel during field operations in many types of inclement weather.
Question 3: Lastly can you explain what this statement means..
"Uniform must be field sew able to eliminate degradation to insulation" I am assuming partially what you mean is that you want to make sure as someone moves around that the insulation does not alter? I just don't know what field sew able means and want to better understand.
Answer 3: Field sew able is to denote:
If uniform is torn or ripped, the wearer will be able to sew it back together and the garmet will still be usable. To further explain/illustrate, if the clothing is stitched with a needle, the area punctured by the needle will not spearate further by wear.
Queation 4: I want to check in and see if you can tell me the reason behind so many extensions for this solicitation and if we can expect the July 14th deadline to be a final deadline.
Answer 4: The quotes due date and time was extended four times to ensure the answers provided to the questions above are accurate. The date/time of 14 July at 2:00 PM Pacific is the expected quote due date and time for this solicitation.
