About this file
The document is a Salient Characteristics file detailing specific technical requirements for an infrared (IR) camera system for mission support. The IR camera system features an Indium Antimonide (InSb) detector with a spectral range of 3.0 - 5.0um, 640 x 512 pixel resolution, and closed-cycle rotary sensor cooling. The system includes a sophisticated zoom lens with a 50-250mm continuous metric zoom capability, expandable to 150-750mm with a 3X lens extender, and supports high-speed recording through a CoaXpress to pHSDR data recorder with Research Studio Pro Software.
The camera system offers extensive imaging capabilities, functioning across a temperature range of 10 deg C to 3000 deg C and featuring a self-contained filter wheel with neutral density filters. The specific model referenced is the FLIR RS6780 Camera System, and the opportunity is associated with the Department of the Air Force Space Command under Solicitation Number FA4610258888 for IR Camera Systems and Accessories. The detailed specifications suggest a precision optical instrument designed for specialized military or research applications requiring advanced thermal imaging capabilities.
