16 Camper Trailers Solicitaon (FA461024Q0009) Quesons and Responses
Queson 1: Is this for Rent or buy?
Response 1: This Request for Quote is for the purchase of the 16 Camper Trailers. Per the solicitaon document, quote new equipment only.
Queson 2: What does “Shower w/ Surround” mean as stated in the salient characteriscs?
Response 2: Revised salient characteriscs to read: 24x40 shower & mini tub combo, with a sliding mesh shower curtain and Skylight.
Queson 3: Is there a preference on the medicine cabinet locaon? Is in the bathroom acceptable?
Response 3: Removed “medicine cabinet” from the salient characteriscs.
Queson 4: Please specify on the pass-through compartment. Is a screen door that comes with a litle pass-through door acceptable?
Response 4: The pass-through compartment is a storage compartment at the front of the trailer with access to it from both sides of the trailer. A screen door would not be an acceptable fulfillment of this requirement.
Queson 5: The specs call for "Fiberglass Laminated Aluminum-Framed Sidewalls". We build steel chasses with wood wall and wood roof frames with aluminum exterior skin/ sidewalls (industry standard on camper trailers). We also build steel chassis and steel wall and steel ceiling with aluminum exterior skin/ sidewalls (however, this would be a lot more costly as the price would be the price of the camper + price of a complete steel frame trailer. ) Please let me know if 1 of these will work. Steel chassis with wood walls and wood ceiling with aluminum not fiberglass sidewalls or steel chassis with steel walls and steel ceiling with aluminum not fiberglass sidewalls.
Response 5: Our requirement is for fiberglass sidewalls. The intenon is to keep the weight of the trailer down. A steel wall, ceiling and aluminum side wall would not meet the requirement.
Queson 6: Payment method?
Response 6: Purchase Card.
Queson 7: Does the Government have a preference on the exterior color of the trailer? Interior?
Response 7: Revised salient characteriscs to read: White exterior with black accents. No interior color requirement.
Queson 8: What kind of hitch are you requesng? 2' ball type or Fih wheel?
Response 8: Revised salient characteriscs to read: 2” ball hitch.
