About this file
This Single Source Justification document details a federal contract for B-52 Aircraft Inlet Covers manufactured exclusively by Kennon Products. The specific part number KENB52H-02B features an extended skirt design that fully covers aircraft engine inlets, including auxiliary intake openings, which meets the requirements of the -21 Technical Order. Other B-52 inlet covers were deemed inadequate as they do not provide the same comprehensive coverage.
The document confirms that multiple efforts were made to seek alternative vendors, including contacting a GSA representative and conducting an FPDS and internet search, which verified Kennon Products as the sole source. The contracting officer determined, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), that only a single source is reasonably available. The document indicates the contract is for the Air Force Global Strike Command, with the awarded contract (FA460825P0026) valued at $78,600.00 and issued on March 14, 2025.

Kennon Products can work directly with to design the KENB52H-02B, B-52 Covers with an extended skirt. Currently, Kennon Products are the only company that makes this part number. Section D: Efforts to Obtain Competition
A GSA representative was contacted in order to seek out additional vendors. Verification was received that no other vendors existed for this requirement. Also, an FPDS search was conducted revealing previous purchases of a similar requirement as a sole source to Kennon Products. An Internet search also revealed no other sources capable of providing the same design as the previously stated model number.
Section E: Steps to Preclude Future Single Source or Brand Name Awards
In lieu of the fact that Kennon is the manufacturer of the only product that is acceptable for B-52's on , only Kennon Products will be considered. If/when additional equipment requirements are identified for the installation, will ensure that this information is still current and accurate and will solicit the requirement for any other products identified.
