23QC117 – Deployable Trailers

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Questions 1 – 9

Question 1: Cable passage from the rear compartment. (Is this just a plastic cable hatch?)

Government Response: This is just a cable path from the back of the trailer to the front. A cable hatch would work.

Question 2: Two reinforced platforms in the rear compartment. (Do you want aluminum racks for this?)

Government Response: A ½ thick Aluminum plate would work as long as it’s not bridging too much of a gap and has supports under it. 2024,3003,5052,6061 or even 7075 would work. The rack needs to support 1000 pounds. Dynamic loads will be more than 1000 pounds. A 3/8s painted Steel plate would be recommended for durability and ease to repair.

Question 3: Power center Cabinet. (Just the steel router-type cabinets?)

Government Response: The power center cabinet is the location where all the power is controlled form (shore power/gen power/breakers/DC Bus)

Question 4: 36" x 36" Steel plates. (Where do you want these located?)

Government Response: The correct steel plate size is 36”x 84”. 4” from the walls, ~12” off the dividing wall. Adjustments are acceptable based off plate placement and sub-floor support layout.

Question 5: Two Cable Spicing Doors (When you say Bulkhead are you referring to the partition wall?)

Government Response: There needs to be a cable passage from the rear of the trailer to external for satellite data cables and one in the front to access to roof to run cable and antenna cables to the roof rack.

Question 6: 20 anchor points in the rear cabin (will 5000# d-rings be fine for this?)

Government Response: 5000 pounds D rings would be perfect, a pallet strap needs to fit through the eye.

Question 7: 4' x 4' roof basket (What are you needing here? what type of wire will need to be ran through the hatch? Just a thickness will be what I would need.)

23QC117 – Deployable Trailers

Government Response: On the roof basket, antennas will be mounted and a large pelican case with a phased array SATCOM terminal. This is one of the two cable splicing doors.

Question 8: Is there a deadline for completion of these (4) trailers?

Government Response: February 2024 would be the deadline for completion.

Question 9: Kindly clarify if a trailer with 8.5-foot width is acceptable.

Government Response: Yes, 8.5 – foot width is acceptable.
