About this file
The document is a Questions and Answers file for Solicitation FA448425Q0039, a Laundry Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for the Air Force's 87th Logistics Readiness Squadron Vehicle Maintenance Flight at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ. The contract requires a contractor to provide weekly pickup, cleaning, and delivery services for approximately 390 coveralls for 65 personnel and 500 industrial shop towels. Key specifications include blue coveralls, cotton red towels, 2"x4" blue name patches with white embroidered last names, and cleaning of existing coveralls owned by the government.
The contract involves weekly laundry service with two-week turnaround for cleaning, replacement of damaged garments, and an automatic replacement plan for shop towels (approximately 100 pieces per week). The contractor will provide a yearly price list, handle base access requirements by submitting employee information, and comply with security regulations. Pickup and delivery will occur between 0800-1400 hours at specified buildings, with flexibility for holiday scheduling. The contract does not require new coveralls at the start, and the government will provide size and personnel information upon contractor meeting.

1. Coverall Brand or Specification Is there a specific brand, fabric type, or quality standard required for the 390 coveralls to be provided for the 65 personnel?
No specific brand nor fabric type. 87 LRS already owns the required coveralls. The contract is for the cleaning of the owned coveralls and shop rags.
2. Name Embroidery Confirmation I understand that all coveralls will need to have 2”x4” blue name patches with white writing sewn above the right pocket. Can you please confirm whether all coveralls must be embroidered with the employee's last name from the beginning, or only upon personnel request?
The current coveralls have white patches with blue writing with employee’s last name. The contractor will provide new name patches for new technicians who are assigned to the Vehicle Management shop upon request.
3. Initial Quantities at Contract Start Will this contract start with a requirement to supply 390 brand-new coveralls and 500 industrial shop towels immediately upon award, or will quantities be delivered in phases based on staffing and inventory?
No, we will not need brand-new coveralls at the start as we own the current coveralls. However, the new contractor may need to sew in new bar codes that they use to track the coveralls through the cleaning process. Future new arrivals may need new coveralls though. We rotate the current coveralls as personnel come and go, just update the white name patch. However, if we do not have a particular size, then we will purchase the coverall through the contractor. Shop rags are currently rented and not purchased by us. The contractor will need to provide the 500 industrial shop towels upon award.
4. Coverall Color Requirement: Is there a specific color required for the coveralls provided under this contract?
We currently have blue coveralls.
5. Coverall Material Specification: Do the coveralls need to be fire-resistant (FR-rated), or will standard industrial-grade coveralls suffice?
Standard industrial-grade coveralls
6. Towel Specifications:
Are microfiber towels acceptable for this contract, or must the service towels be strictly 100% cotton?
We currently use red cotton towels and prefer cotton.
Is it permissible to provide only red-colored towels, or must both red and gray be included?
We prefer the red towels as they are easier to find in the shop after a completed job.
7. Holiday Service Adjustments: Will there be any issue with performing pickup and delivery prior to federal holidays instead of the next available duty day?
We are flexible with the holidays. Just let us know prior to the holiday when they want to perform pickup and delivery.
8. Government intends to:
Purchase and maintain 500 shop towels total, with approximately 100 cleaned and rotated out weekly.
