About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a portable toilet rental and service recompete contract for an air show at a military base. The contract has a base year plus four option years and will be awarded based on the total five-year value. For the air show, which occurs in years 1, 3, and 5 of the contract, additional portable toilets and handwashing stations will be required along with more frequent emptying services. The contractor must be prepared to continuously service units as needed during the two-day air show to ensure public safety, as wait times for full units are not acceptable. Two-sided portable sink units may be used and doubled up. The air show typically ends around 4:30pm each Sunday but units cannot be removed until the crowd has dispersed, starting no earlier than 5pm.

PORTABLE TOILET RECOMPETE
QUESTIONS and ANSWERS
1. Is the air show awarded separately from the yearly contract? On years we have an air show, (1,3,5 year as in the contract) it will be a modification to the existing contract option (different line of funding) on an as needed basis.
2. Is the bid awarded on total dollar of the contract over the five years? or dollar amount over the first year? This is a Base plus 4 (four) option year contract. This contract will be awarded based off total dollar value over 5 years.
3. Delivery/ Pick-up timeline – I want to verify the 3-day staging period before and after the event, not a one-day limit? This is correct for the Air Show
4. The ancillary charges for the porta-potties (1100) comes out to 5 extra services, whereas, for the hand wash stations there are (90) or 6 extra services. Is there an extra trip/service required just for the hand-wash stations? Moreover, how many extra services will be required? This is based on past performances. Handwash stations seem to run out quicker depending on the location.
5. Is there a schedule or timeline for the extra services? As needed. With it being so hard to get on and off the base during an Air Show past contractors have kept a truck and driver here all day both days to provide services as needed. Due to public safety if we have don’t have the luxury of a large service window wait time to pump full units.
6. Can we use 2 sided sinks and double them up? Yes. We have used the two-sided units in the past.
7. What is the approximate time the air show is over on Sunday? Usually done by
4:30pm…but we have to wait for the crowd to disperse. Start pumping units by 5 and moving them by 5:30 or 6pm to clear for planes to leave. Move them all to the staging area.
