PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT (PWS)

FOR

Striker Firetruck Repair

11 Mar 2016

1. SCOPE OF WORK. The contractor shall provide all personnel, parts, supervision, facilities and other items and services as necessary to repair the body damage to the driver's side of the vehicle. The Vehicle Maintenance Flight will arrange delivery of the vehicle to the contractor and pick it back up upon completion of the body repair work.

2. DESCRIPTION OF CURRENT CONDITION OF VEHICLE. The vehicle was involved in an accident in which the lower driver's side compartment was damaged by another vehicles bumper.

These compartments hold the vehicles fire pump, structural pumping system, hydraulic reservoir, air system, and storage compartments. The compartments had both roll-up and one piece metal doors. All doors on the left side with the exception of the front one, which was not damaged, have been removed so access can be gained to the compartments. The vehicle is operational but care must be taken to keep the pump compartment from freezing temperatures as long as water is maintained in the vehicle.

3. SITE VISIT. Subject vehicle will be available for viewing on 18 Mar 16 at 1400 in the parking by the base’s main gate (located on Vandenberg Rd.)

4. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES REQUIRED. Remove as necessary the mechanical components described in paragraph two in order to gain complete access to the damaged compartments.

This also includes the electrical wiring, air lines, and water piping that supports the pumping system. Remove damaged compartments as necessary to perform the body repairs. Repaint the compartments to match the vehicle.

a. RELOCATION SERVICES. The vehicle will be driven to the repair location either by 19

LRS Vehicle Management Flight personnel or a qualified, licensed driver from 19 CES/CEF Fire Department.

b. DAMAGE REPAIR. Replace or repair the compartments or the damaged sections of the compartments as necessary. Straighten or replace compartment support braces as necessary. Repaint outside of the compartments with the same color code/matching red paint of the vehicle. Repaint the inside of the compartments with similar water resistant paint that matches their current color. Replace the left center and rear compartment roll up doors. Repair or replace hydraulic compartment solid piece door as necessary. Replace rubber body trim as necessary to match appearance of the passenger side of the vehicle. Ensure body compartments are level and matching in relation to their original condition and height from the ground. Upon completion of work, reassemble all components and ensure all mechanical and pumping system components function as they did prior to disassembly.

c. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE. Upon receipt of contract, the Contractor shall order all required parts and materials required for the repair of the vehicle. After ordering parts and materials, the contractor shall coordinate with 19 CONS personnel to setup transfer of the vehicle from Government to Contractor possession. Work shall be complete no later than 14 calendar days after receipt of vehicle. However, it is requested work be complete much sooner, if possible.

5. ACCEPTANCE. Completed repairs will be inspected by the Vehicle Management Flight Chief or his representative and/or the Fire Truck Maintenance Section Work Leader/NCOIC or both.

Expectations will be that of a normal body shop repair job. Compartment body lines should look straight and normal and all compartments should be functional to factory standards. Roll-up doors should roll up without binding or sticking. Compartments should be void of any obvious dents, waves or uneven areas. The paint should match the rest of the vehicle and be void of runs, orange peel or overspray. Ground distance from the bottom of the compartments should be approximately the same as the passenger side. Top of the compartments should be straight and follow the body lines of the water tank which sits above them. All rubber body molding should either have been replaced or reinstalled if it was undamaged. Mechanical components removed during the repair process shall all function properly as intended.
