Amended Current as of 04 Aug 2020 Statement of Work (SOW) For Hangar 811 Bird Netting Travis AFB
Statement of Work (SOW) Hangar 811 Bird Netting Travis AFB Description of Services
The contractor shall install bird netting in hangar 811. They will supply all required materials, labor, and equipment necessary to install the netting. Furthermore, the contractor shall perform all work according to the appropriate industry standards. All work, invoicing and payments will be on a compressed timeline. This requirement has a strict deadline for invoice acceptance of 3:00pm PDT on 18 September 2020 (see Period of Performance of specific information).
Service Summary
This contract will cover the purchase of material and installation of bird netting for the entire span of hangar 811’s rafters/roof support structure cross-beams to prevent birds from entering/nesting.
Specific Requirements
| - | Prior to installation of bird netting specific installation dates will need to be coordinated with the 60th MXG Plans & Scheduling Office to de-conflict scheduled aircraft maintenance. |
| - | Install 1/2 inch square or smaller netting of nylon or other synthetic material sufficient to prevent bird access. |
| - | Install netting the entire length and width of hangar 811’s rafters/support cross-beams, approximately 77K square feet. (Excluding yellow, abandoned-in-place, maintenance platforms). |
| - | Use attachment fixtures for the netting that won’t require drilling or altering hangar support structure, while still providing sufficient support and tension for netting. |
| - | Sufficient clearance of approximately 76 light fixtures to prevent interference/heat damage. Also, we require access zippers or flaps be installed for every light fixture. |
| - | Provide access through or around stairwells, heating, electrical, and fire suppression conduit or plumbing. |
| - | Provide sufficient clearance over aircraft fire suppression system foam generators to prevent interference from their operation/function. |
| - | During installation, if the contractor comes across “active nests” (nests containing eggs or baby birds), they will do the following: |
· Active Nests, with eggs or young birds in it, the contractor will immediately contact the Travis AFB’s Airport Biologist, Matthew Stevens at 707-267-0785 or matthew.j.stevens@usda.gov for nest removal procedures.
· Inactive Nests, just a collection of sticks and debris, the contractor can remove it themselves without any permits or assistance. The contractor will still contact the Travis AFB’s Airport Biologist, Matthew Stevens at 707-267-0785 or matthew.j.stevens@usda.gov for record keeping purposes.
Period of Performance
This requirement utilizes funding that expires on 30 Sept 2020. All CLINs on this SOW are required to be completed, invoiced and accepted by 18 Sep 2020 at 3:00pm. This will assist in ensuring payment is completed prior to expiration of funds on 30 Sept 2020. Within this compressed timeline, the contractor will be required to coordinate with the POC (MSgt David Ellestad) to ensure hangar availability due to aircraft maintenance schedules. Respond in the quote or email containing the quote this information is understood and acknowledged.
