Section B: Description of the Supplies/Services Required
Triton L&D is a licensing software subscription that quantifies blood loss collected by chux pads, lap sponges, and the under buttocks drape by automatically calculating blood loss of weighed items and allowing for batch weighing and integration of under buttocks drape volume. Quantification assists with early recognition of postpartum hemorrhage and provides an objective metric for blood loss.
Section C: Justification for Soliciting from a Single Source or Brand Name
Currently, the providers estimate blood loss post-delivery by visualizing the amount of blood on chux/sponges.
Additionally, they annotate the amount of amniotic fluid in the under buttocks drape and subtract this from the total volume of blood/amniotic fluid after delivery of the placenta to determine blood loss. The Triton would allow us to capture this blood loss accurately, without visually estimating by using both batch input and weighing features.
Triton offers a mobile platform for accurate, real-time estimation of surgical blood loss throughout the procedure.
Triton uses a mobile app to capture images, which are processed using cloud-based computer vision and machine learning algorithms to rapidly estimate blood loss on surgical sponges and suction canisters. The system has an intuitive iPad-based user interface, requires minimal training, and seamlessly integrates into existing surgical work flow.
Importantly, the Triton system is not affected by the presence of other fluids on the sponges as its measurements are based on the colorimetric analysis of images focusing on hemoglobin. AMD ritmed RF detect Cardinal allegiance NovaPlus:

Section D: Efforts to Obtain Competition
Through Internet searches the 60 MDG was unable to find other vendors capable of providing this service or capable of meeting the unique capabilities previously mentioned. Gauss Surgical authorizes Veterans Healthcare Supply Solutions to provide the software. Gauss Surgical will provide a letter of authorization.
Section E: Steps to Preclude Future Single Source or Brand Name Awards
Steps to preclude future single source requests are to see if our peer groups such as Wright Patterson MDG, Keesler MDG, and Lackland MDG are utilizing services that we are requesting. We will also continue to search the market through internet searches and requesting product information as needed to determine if what is available in the open market meets our requirements.
Section F: Contracting Officer's Determination
I have determined, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), that the circumstances of this contract action deem only a single source is reasonably available.
